A young woman with significant learning difficulties lives at home with her parents whom she is dependent on, both financially and practically. Last week sadly her father died, and the following day her mother was admitted to hospital following a haemophilic stroke. The young woman because of her personal situation is unable to claim for any benefits in her own name, and is completely without any money to be able to get to and from the hospital to visit her mother. Our agent, the young woman’s assigned social worker asked us if we could help her financially in the short term, while they sort out things at their end and get some help for the family. We agreed to send the young woman £100.
