We were approached to help a young man in his early twenties who has had to take time out from his university course. He suffers with schizophrenia and is also alcohol dependent, to the point where it has taken over his life. He has begun treatment and as part of that has taken a year out from his studies to get his alcohol issues under control. At the moment he is living alone as all the other students have gone home for the summer, but is at high risk of a seizure because of alcohol withdrawal. He has no money to buy any alcohol anyhow, but also no money for food or his energy meters. His therapy requires him to be in regular phone contact but he has no credit on his phone. Our agents were with him at the time of contact and we agreed to send across some money which they were going to ensure would go exactly where it was needed.
