We were contacted to see if we could help a young man, who is currently estranged from his family. He has Aspergers and mental health issues, and is struggling to manage his money. He had unfortunately gone overdrawn on his bank account and when his benefits payment went into his account, it was all soaked up to cover the overdraft. This has left him with nothing for food or energy. Our agents were able to get him some food via the food bank, but with no energy he is unable to cook any of it. We agreed to send across £5 to clear his overdraft, £20 for his gas and electric and £30 to purchase some food. Our agents said they’d try to assist him with managing his money going forward.
