Single Mum to be, sleeping on a relative’s floor

We had lots of requests for help yesterday, and this case was one of those.  She is a young mum to be, 36 weeks pregnant and is technically homeless.  She is currently staying with a relative, but having to sleep on the floor as she has nowhere else to go while she finds suitable accommodation.  She has had to give up work because she became too heavily pregnant to work safely, but hadn’t been employed there long enough to be entitled to maternity benefits.  Our agents are helping her sort out her benefits claim and will support her in finding accommodation.  In the meantime, we sent across £100 to tide her over until her benefits claim is looked again in October.
