We were asked to help a single mother who has been desperately trying to get her life back on track. She is currently in receipt of Universal Credit and is using that to take care of herself and her young daughter, but is struggling to make ends meet. Previously she worked as a carer and enjoyed doing that, but to be able to get employment in a similar field she needs to have a DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service Check) done, but cannot afford to do that herself so it is in place ready for being given a job. We agreed to cover the cost of that so that she can turn their lives around.
