Mother and daughter struggling with budgeting

A mother and her adult daughter are both in receipt of Universal Credit as they are disabled and unable to work.  After they have paid a top up on their rent of £130 per month, plus met bills they are often left with very little to manage on.  The mother suffers with mental health issues and doesn’t cope with budgeting very well.  She will often pay a bill as soon as it arrives without thinking about how she will manage for the rest of the month as she gets very panicky about debt.  This happened this month, the bill was paid but they were left with nothing at all to buy food.  We agreed to send them £50 to tide them over and our agents agreed they would work with the lady to help her with budgeting so this doesn’t happen again.
