Man with cancer unable to claim sickness benefit

A man who previously worked part-time in a snooker hall, has been diagnosed with mouth cancer and is undergoing treatment.  Due to his condition he now finds he is unable to work, and had to give up his job.  As he only worked a few hours he is not entitled to sickness benefit, so is struggling financially.  Our agents are assisting him in applying for Universal Credit, and will also help him to apply for Personal Independence Payments.  In the meantime he is without any money and is relying solely on the support of friends and family.  We agreed to send him £80 to help him out.
