A family that are in receipt of Universal Credit after being given incorrect advice, as they should have remained on tax credits as they were previously claiming. The DWP also have a non-dependent deduction coming off the Universal Credit claim, which is also incorrect. The mother was working part-time but has had to give up work due to ill health, her husband is also too sick to work and one of their children is type 1 diabetic. Our agents are working with the family to try to better organise their monthly outgoings, as well are getting their benefits claim sorted out. In the meantime the family are completely without money to buy food, so we agreed to send the family £100 to help them out until their next payment on the 17th June.
