Support was needed for a young single mum of two girls. The mother was brought up as a looked after child in the care system, due to sexual abuse. She has been the victim of domestic abuse and has recently moved from a women’s refuge to a home of her own. Initially she was very scared and vulnerable when she fled the domestic abuse situation, but is now with the help of her health visitor, the early help team and self-help services beginning to address some of the difficulties she has faced. She has begun to address some of the debts she has and now has payment plans in place for those, mostly relating to her previous home. She has been through a lot, even though she is only 21 years old herself. We were asked if we could consider this young lady for a Biscuit Fund boost which we agreed to and sent across £100.
