We were approached to help a young man who is a single dad to his four year old daughter, whom he has cared for since she was born. He was in receipt of Employment Support Allowance, but was refused this at his last assessment. He is being supported with getting this resolved, however he has ended up since failing his assessment, on Universal Credit instead. This has seriously impacted the income for him and his daughter. Her school is very supportive and will when his health is bad, call to collect her to take her to and from school. He needed some money to be able to make sure there is enough food and money for gas and electricity. Our agents are going to help him get in control of his budgeting, so we agreed to send over £150 to help him and his daughter out.
