We were approached to help a single mum who has four children under the age of 4. She is currently subject to checks by social services who have expressed concerns about the sleeping arrangements for the youngest, a 5 month old who is currently sleeping in a Moses basket which is too small. She is in desperate need of a cot for the baby and unable to afford to get one as her benefits are all used up on food and bills for the family. We agreed to send the family £150, to purchase a new cot and mattress and some bedding with the money left over for the other children.
