We reopened earlier this week, after closing for summer holidays. It has been so busy though, with lots of people still struggling, as we all are these days, with the cost of living ever on the increase. We have helped a number of families, coping with the return to schools, which always brings with it, costs such as new school uniforms, placing pressure on the available budget for food. We’ve had young people unexpectedly diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, placing enormous financial and emotional pressure on their small and young family. Fortunately, we were able to help with a small donation to help with food costs until their Universal Credit claim can be processed. We’ve had victims of domestic violence, suddenly finding themselves with only one income to support their families, it is impossible to prepare fully for what might happen. If you are living from payday to payday, then having an emergency fund you can fall back on is just not possible for some, and that is where we can step in and help out where we can.
