A disabled mum of four children is struggling to manage financially. She is affected heavily by the benefit cap, having to find £400 a month to top up the cost of her rent. She had her PIP claim refused last year and our agents are going to help her appeal this, or at least reclaim. Her fridge is leaking and her vacuum is broken, and she does not have any money to have these repaired or replaced. She has applied for a local council assistance scheme, but has been refused as they say they only focus now on care leavers or people that have come from a street homeless situation. We agreed to send her £120 to allow her to get these fixed or purchase reconditioned replacements.
