We’ve been back since 1st September, accepting referrals, and boy, has it been busy. We had hoped that people’s lives would have improved, that we were no longer needed as much, but the opposite has been true. We have been busier than ever before. We are open for referrals on Mondays and Tuesdays only (we don’t have the funding to stay open all week), and all referrals must be through an official agency with which we have an existing relationship. We have helped so many people, single mums’ and dads’ struggling to bring up young families on their own and a single income, young adults forced to leave home for the first time. So many people are homeless, struggling to find a place to have a roof over their head.’
