A housing support officer contacted us about a man she'd been helping off the streets and into accommodation of his own. She'd successfully applied for a grant for some furniture and white goods, such as an oven and fridge, however he is without a washing machine. She asked if we could offer a sum of money so that he could put that towards the cost of a second hand machine. We agreed to send him £80.

We saw a call out on Social Media for a homeless man that had absolutely hit rock bottom. An outreach group had been helping him, and sufficient money had been raised to cover the cost of a deposit and the first weeks rent of a bedsit. However, despite that, he has absolutely nothing to take with him when he moves in, no plates, cups, a kettle, something to cook in, etc, etc. We discussed this between us and agreed to send over £85 to the people that were organising this on behalf of the man, as a contribution to be used to get some things together for him. Hopefully his benefits payments will soon be in place for him.

Our case, a single man, previously homeless has been offered a permanent home, however although he has managed to secure most of the items he needs, he has not been able to get hold of a bed. We agreed to send him £100 to go towards the cost of that, or maybe cover the cost of a second hand one and have money left over to buy some bedding.

Our contacts asked us to help a single formerly homeless man who has been offered a permanent home, but although he can move into it, does not have any money to put on to the prepaid electricity meter, so that he can have an electricity supply. We agreed to send over £40 to allow him to do this and be able to occupy his new home.
