Our agents asked us to assist a couple that have now been offered housing. They had previously both been living in the back of a van, and had moved to the area, so were not eligible for help from the local authority. Our agents have fundraised to obtain some of the items they needed, but they still are in need of an oven. He is now working a few hours a week, with the hopes the hours will increase, and his partner is in the process of attending interviews. We agreed to send them £80 to use towards purchasing a reconditioned oven.

We were approached about some help for a man who has been living in a hostel for the past two years. He has finally been given a place of his own, but needed £76 for the month in advance rent. We agreed to helping with this and to round the amount up to £100 as he will need to purchase items to help him set up home.

A housing support officer contacted us about a man she'd been helping off the streets and into accommodation of his own. She'd successfully applied for a grant for some furniture and white goods, such as an oven and fridge, however he is without a washing machine. She asked if we could offer a sum of money so that he could put that towards the cost of a second hand machine. We agreed to send him £80.

We saw a call out on Social Media for a homeless man that had absolutely hit rock bottom. An outreach group had been helping him, and sufficient money had been raised to cover the cost of a deposit and the first weeks rent of a bedsit. However, despite that, he has absolutely nothing to take with him when he moves in, no plates, cups, a kettle, something to cook in, etc, etc. We discussed this between us and agreed to send over £85 to the people that were organising this on behalf of the man, as a contribution to be used to get some things together for him. Hopefully his benefits payments will soon be in place for him.

Our case, a single man, previously homeless has been offered a permanent home, however although he has managed to secure most of the items he needs, he has not been able to get hold of a bed. We agreed to send him £100 to go towards the cost of that, or maybe cover the cost of a second hand one and have money left over to buy some bedding.

Our case was a man who had been street homeless for several months, with very little clothing and no way to claim any benefits as he didn't have an address to give to the DWP. An agency had offered to provide him with the support necessary to assist him with his benefits claim. They contacted us though, as he has very limited clothing and is in desperate need of some funds to purchase replacements. We agreed to send across to the agency £70 as digital vouchers to be used in a High Street Discount store, as he doesn't have a bank account either to receive the money.
