We were asked to help a lady who had recently become widowed after her husband died. She gave up work to care for him when his dementia meant he couldn't be left alone any longer. She is in receipt of pension and a top up of Universal Credit, and once all her bills are paid she is left with £14 to live on. Our agents want to apply for a debt relief order for her as her debts are causing extreme anxiety and she simply isn't coping. We agreed to send them the £90 so they could apply for a debt relief order on her behalf.

A lady who is currently dealing with ovarian cancer and spinal metatases, lives with her husband. Currently the only income they receive is her £145 pension per week. They do own their own home, but still have bills to pay out of that, including energy, water, council tax etc. Our agents are assisting her in applying for pension credit and her husband has no income at all, so they are helping him to claim Universal Credit. In the meantime they don't have any money for food, so we sent them £100 so they could get some food shopping in.

We were asked to help out a pensioner who is currently quite unwell, she has had a heart attack, bypass surgery and a broken hip, as well as suffering from dementia, diabetes, cancer and vasculitis. She has a number of debts which it leaves her struggling to cope with her bills and being able to make repayments to bring the debt levels down. The stress of this is causing her extreme distress. Our agents are going to assist her to apply for a Debt Relief Order and were in need of £90 to pay for the DRO. We agreed to send this over so that this can be applied for.

A couple which have applied for pension credit, have had their benefits affected negatively since they were granted leave to stay back in July. They are still awaiting the outcome of the pension credit claim and have been without any income since July. They have had two grants from their local authority and food parcels from the local food bank, but their gas and electric bills are mounting up and the lack of any income is having a devastating impact on them both. We agreed to send them £100 to help them out. Hopefully the Pension Service will be able to sort the issues out quickly for them.
