We were asked to help a young man whose benefits stopped being paid over the Christmas Period, he had been in receipt of Employment Support Allowance. He tried to make an application for Universal Credit, but due to his poor language skills, mental health issues and lack of a mobile phone this was not successful. He is unable to top up his gas and electricity meters due to not having any money, nor any money for food. We agreed to send him £75 to help him out until he can get his benefits claim sorted out.
