The lady in question is a social housing tenant, having lived in her home for the past 29 years. She is unable to work due to arthritis, depression and panic attacks. She is the sole occupier of her three bedroomed house, so is subject to the bedroom tax, and has debts that the repayments leave her with less than the minimal disposable income. These debts are causing her extreme anxiety, so she has been advised to apply for a Debt Relief Order in order to relieve herself of the debts. She cannot though afford the £90 fee to apply for the DRO, even though she has the full support of her advisors that this is her best course of action. We agreed to cover the £90 fee so that this can be put in place for her.
